My Teaching Philosophy:
I love to make Spanish classes a fun and exciting learning experience for my students, with interactive and hands-on lessons and plenty of communicative activities and cooperative learning. While it is important that the students learn the language, it is equally as important to learn about the Hispanic culture to gain awareness and insight into a culture that may be different from their own.
My expectations for students reflect skills and characteristics required to succeed in the real world such as punctuality, responsibility, organization, respect, fair treatment, working with others, etc. Therefore, I firmly believe that it is not only my job to teach the subject matter at hand, but also to enforce and apply to students the daily the values and standards in accordance with the BHS Mission Statement to prepare them for future pathways and to be productive members of society.
Current Topics:
*Spanish I--ER verbs, -IR verbs, family vocabulary
*Spanish II -*Chore vocabulary, indirect object pronouns, saying what we do around the house/what others do around the house
