Dear Parents and Guardians:
I would like to congratulate everyone on another successful Russell O. Brackman Middle School opening! I enjoyed meeting many of you at Back to School Night and at the recent PTA meeting. I am sure you will join me in thanking our staff for the amazing job that they do every day!
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Vice Principal, Katherine Dudley; Ms. Dudley, a New Jersey native, is returning from North Carolina where she was a middle school assistant principal.
After School Assistance programs will begin next week. Please encourage your children to take advantage of these worthwhile programs. Several other activities have begun and it’s nice to see lots of students here at the end of the school day participating in cross country, soccer, volleyball and field hockey. Another noteworthy program that has just begun is our Mentoring program. Staff members volunteer to guide students throughout the school year and offer their support. Permission slips for the Mentoring Program are now available in the main office and the guidance department.
Please note that school will be closed on October 13th in observance of Columbus Day and on October 14th for teacher professional development. School makeup, retake and new student pictures will be taken on Wednesday, October 29th. Students requiring retakes need to bring their original picture package.
Other activities taking place in October are:
October 1 Mentor-Mentee Breakfast – 7:00 AM
October 6 - 10 Week of Respect
October 6 Mates Assembly Program
October 8 PTA Meeting – 7:00 PM
October 9 Progress Reports on Parent Portal

Please keep in mind that nothing motivates a child more than when they see that education is valued by school and family. It is my ongoing pleasure getting to know you and your child during this school year.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
