I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to Mrs. Bartolini who is the recipient of Teacher of the Year. I am very pleased that Mrs. Bartolini has been recognized by her peers for her hard work and dedication.
Mrs. Tynan and Mr. Strouse have been busy with the students for the last few months in preparation for our annual Art and Music Show. It will be held on Thursday, April 10 beginning at 4:30 with the Art Show which will run until 6:30 p.m. The musical segment will begin at 7:00. Mrs. Tynan makes sure that artwork from every student is on display during the art portion of the evening, and Mr. Strouse has been diligently practicing with the 4th & 5th Grade Chorus which will be performing during the music portion. I am looking forward to seeing the creativity that the students have put forth for this show – I know I will be amazed and awed by their efforts. Our PTA will also be holding an evening session of the Book Fair during the Show and you are welcome to stop by to see what books are on sale that your child may enjoy.
Our teachers continue to work diligently preparing for the upcoming NJ ASK testing which will be held in May.
Our students, I am proud to say, have crossed the half million mark for minutes read in our school. Without counting March’s number, your sons and daughters have read over 525,000 minutes in our Battle of the Books. Moreover, there is a growing excitement as we get closer and more classes are reporting huge numbers! I will be certain to keep you posted!
Finally, I would like to offer my sincere thank you to the PTA members who have worked tirelessly since September on this year’s Night at the Races, which was held on March 22.. As in years past, everyone who attended had a wonderful time and many lucky winners went home with baskets full of terrific prizes. I feel extremely proud and happy to be the principal of the Horbelt School whose PTA continually goes above and beyond in sponsoring programs and fundraisers which benefit the Horbelt students. We are lucky to have you! THANK YOU!!!
