![]() As we enter the month of May, we have a host of activities on the horizon. The PTA will be facilitating a Mother’s Day Plant Sale and our kindergarten students will be presenting a medley of songs at a Parent Tea. Our fifth graders are looking forward to their End -of -Year Celebration at Calloway’s Amusements on May 28th. As you will see below, students and staff have much to look forward to before the end of the school year! As a reminder, state testing will be taking place this month as well. Needless to say, our third, fourth and fifth grade students have been busy gearing up for the upcoming state assessments. ASK3&4 testing will take place the week of May 13th and grade five testing the week of May 6th. It is important for students to arrive to school on time each day as well as eat a nutritious breakfast and get a good night’s sleep. Snacks, courtesy of the PTA, will be provided for students during testing week. Students, staff, parents, and community members gathered at the flag pole before the start of the school day for the annual Arbor Day celebration.
The second and third grade Drama Club performed Hats for the Dunfee School Community on April 25th.
The PTA hosted a family spaghetti dinner on Thursday, April 4th. Over 25 teachers and support staff served as wait staff and kitchen help.
Congratulations to Mrs. Kim Peace for being named the Dunfee School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Peace, who teaches kindergarten, is a shining example of the outstanding staff that abounds at the Dunfee School.
Students in Mrs. Sarluca's second grade class recited a poem and sang a medley of space exploration songs at the Heritage Bay's Women's Club monthly March meeting.
Students in grades K-5 had the opportunity to raise money for the American Heart Association while participating in a variety of "jumping acitivities".
The Bully Prevention Committe, under the direction of Mrs. Cucinotta, provided students with different vignettes to review behavior expectations in all school settings. Drake the Dragon was also on hand at the assembly!
Over 100 students participated in the annual Science Fair on Thursday, February 21st!
