Spring is finally here and students are once again able to get outside for recess. As it is always cooler and windier up on the hill, please have your child wear a warm jacket to school each day. PARCC testing went smoothly and we have concluded the PARCC Performance Based Assessment. Students in grades 3-5 will begin taking the End of Year PARCC Assessment beginning the week of April 27th. A schedule will be forthcoming.
On behalf of the Dunfee School students and staff, I wish to congratulate Mrs. Kilfeather, fifth grade teacher, for being named LMDS Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Kilfeather is very deserving of this award and an integral member of our school family.
I would also like to take this time to stress the importance of regular attendance. Research supports that regular attendance is a major contributor to the academic, social, and emotional growth of students. It further stresses the importance of being in school and on time each day. Please make every effort in getting your children to school on time and not sign them out early unless absolutely necessary. We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Ruddy’s first grade class was the third class to receive the “ROAR for Great Attendance” school-wide attendance award!
For your convenience, a list of all April happenings can be found below. Please note that Thursday, April 2nd, is a full day of school and Friday, April 3rd a shortened day. The revised schedule is due to inclement weather make-up days.
