With the end of the school fast approaching, students at Barnegat High School are busy with many activities.   Juniors will be attending prom on Saturday, May 4that the Camden Aquarium.  Sophomores will have the opportunity to order their class rings on the evening of May 8, and during lunches on May 9thand 10th.  The annual Art Show will take place on May 14th at 6:00 p.m.  The spring jazz and choir concert will take place on May 15th . Spring band concert is scheduled for May 23rd.  Scholarship night is Thursday evening, May 30that 6:00 p.m.

 

TheSprint for Scholarships sponsored by theBarnegat Township Educational Foundation will take place on Saturday, May18th at 8:00 a.m. on the high school track.  For more information visit our website www.barnegatschools,.com/sprintforscholarships5k  to register or be a sponsor.

 

Letters will be mailed home shortly to seniors and parents outlining the final exam and graduation practice schedule along with important attachments. Graduation is set for Tuesday, June 18th at 6:00 p.m.

The Bengal Theater Company hosted the 2nd Annual Ocean Arts Awards here at Barnegat High school on Monday May 13, 2012 at the Bengal auditorium. The place was packed with hundreds of kids representing theatrical troupes from local high schools including, Lacey Township HS, Pinelands HS, Toms River North HS, Point Pleasant Borough HS and our own Bengal Theater Company, here at Barnegat HS. Representing Barnegat, congratulations are in order for:

Eve Brescia, for winning the Ocean Arts award for Best Actress in a comedic musical for her portrayal of Charlotte in Charlotte's Web!

 
Morgan Golinski, for winning Best Supporting Actress in the same musical
 
The Bengal Theater Company for winning Best Makeup.

Special attention should be paid to Ms Keri DeBari as the driving force behind the troupe as Barnegat was honored to receive the distinguished S.H.O.R.E. Award for exemplary Sportsmanship, Hospitality, Originality, Respect & Enthusiasm. Way to go Bengal Thespian Troup 7363!

Congratulations to Shannon Rainsford, Jennifer Rochette and Kristina Harper on their 1st place win in the Ocean County Robotics design competition and 2nd place in the race competition!

 

Staff
 
Each year the staff at Barnegat High School participates in the National Lee Denim Day which occurs in early October. This year the staff raised $375.00 for the American Cancer Society Lee Denim Day and over the past 5 years have raised over $2,000.  Congratulations to the staff at Barnegat High School for their commitment to fight against cancer. 
 
 

Congratulations to our Marching Band and Color Guard Team

Tuesday, October 16th at our board meeting, the marching band and color guard were presented with an award and a donation from the American Legion Post 232 of Barnegat. In June, they marched at the Legion's Convention in Wildwood New Jersey and placed fourth in their first appearance. They will be returning this year to suport the post as well.
