Hello and welcome to the 2022-23 school year!

My name is Mr. Scalone, this is my third year of teaching. This is my second year in the Barnegat school district and my first at the Horbelt school. I had the privilege of student teaching at the Horbelt school. It was a wonderful experience and a great place to work!

This year I will have the privilege of teaching in an ICR role alongside Mrs. Davies for 6th grade math and Miss Rodriguez for 5th grade ELA!

I received my bachelors degree in K-6 education and Special Education from Kean University. I have thoroughly enjoyed my teaching experience and making connections with my students. My philosophy as a teacher is to accommodate and support every student that walks into my classroom. A teacher should be one of a child's greatest role models and that is one of my goals every school year. Another goal is to make school an enjoyable and educational environment where students can feel comfortable at all times.
