Welcome Students and Families!

My name is Mr. Putman and I am an English Language Arts teacher at Barnegat High School.  Presently, I am teaching English I College Prep and English II College Prep.  I hold a Bachelors Degree in English Literature from Rider University, a Masters Degree in Education, Instruction and Curriculum from Kean University and I have my standard state teaching certificate in NJ.  I changed careers from a commercial/mechanical construction project manager in New York City to pursue a career as a teacher and I am extremely pleased to be working in an extraordinary district such as Barnegat Township Schools.  I am always available to assist my students and their families/caregivers with any questions, comments or concerns they may have.  I understand that this can be an overwhelmingly stressful time for all of us, but if we rely on each other for assistance, I am positive we will all be successful.

Please note that I am very fortunate to have my co-teacher, Ms. Kroeger, an ICR teacher, who is also available to assist you should you need her help.  We are here for you and strive for a successful year with all of our students!
