Grades: 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Band

Concert Band is a performance ensemble that takes place during the school day. Students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 are eligible to take Band as a course in their schedule. In order to participate in Concerts & Performances, students must be enrolled in the Band Class in their schedule. Annual Concert Performances will take place in the Winter & Spring. Additional performance opportunity will be announced during the school.
The Concert Band consists of the following Instruments:
Woodwinds: Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone.
Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone
Percussion: Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Xylophone, Bells, Cymbals, Triangle, Timpani.
Supplies Needed for Band Class:
1. Woodwind & Brass Students: Your Band Instrument
3. One Pocket Folder
4. One Subject Notebook
5. Percussion Students Only: Drum Sticks
In the event where your child is in need of ordering accessories for your instrument, they may be order throught National Education Music Company (NEMC).

Band Pull-Out Lesson Schedule
As a part of your schedule for Concert Band, each student enrolled in the course will receive a Pull-Out Band Lesson one day per week. This allows students to work in their sections in order to develop and enhance your child's musical experience.
Each Pull-Out Lesson will take place during your child's scheduled Gym Period. Please attend your scheduled Band Lesson on your assigned day.
Monday - Flutes & Clarinets
Tuesday - Trumpets, Trombones, and Bass Keyboards
Wednesday - ALL Percussion
Thursday - French Horn & ALL Saxophones
Friday - Assigned Extra Help (6th Grade Only)
Friday - Jazz Band (7th Grade & 8th Grade Only)
*Friday Jazz Band Lessons for 7th & 8th Grade Students will start after the completion of
Jazz Band Auditions
All students will receive a weekly participation grade based on performance and behavior during class.
Students will receive Quiz & Test Grades throughout the Marking Period
For all Concert Band Periods, students will be assessed on the following Grading Scale:

*Students will receive a Pull-Out Band Lesson one day per week during their Gym/Health Period.
Attendance for Pull-Out Lessons is mandatory as a part of your child's grade for Band Class. Students who do not attend their Pull-Out Band Lesson will lose points off of their Weekly Participation Grade for Band Class.
