Math Strategies to Try at Home
-Practice real-world math. Count items at home or at the store. Have your child add and subtract items you see. Make sure to have them explain their reasoning.
-Act out problems at home using manipulatives such as pennies, Legos, beans etc.
-Have your child go on a scavenger hunt for different shapes.
-Make addition and subtraction flashcards and practice them daily to get away from counting on fingers.
-Read the calendar and determine how many days until an upcoming event.
