Hello!! My name is Miss Amber Rodriguez and I will be your fifth grade ELA and Social Studies teacher this school year! 

I grew up in the Manahawkin/Barnegat area and graduated from Southern Regional High School. I went to college at the University of South Florida to pursue my educational career. I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. This will be my seventh year teaching in Barnegat and I could not be more thrilled! I have taught first grade, fourth grade, and K-5 in the Basic Skills program. This will be my fourth year teaching fifth grade at Horbelt!

I follow a hands-on teaching philosophy which fosters independence and success. The structure of daily activities is planned to encourage self-confidence, and group cooperation through large group, small group and one-on-one participation in a variety of interactive activities. The activities will incorporate instruction and skill reinforcement in reading readiness, social/emotional skills and language development.
