Grading: For 5th grade, students are graded on effort and participation only. It is a 1-5 scale with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. For each day of class, students get a 1-5 grade. Then, once at the middle of the marking period and again at the end of the marking period, students get an actual participation grade (again, on the 1-5 scale). Student report cards will reflect an overall 1-5 grade for the marking period.
