Mrs. Amanda Hoolahan
Amanda is the Preschool Intervention and Referral Team (PIRT) Specialist for the Barnegat Preschool Program which began in January 2019. She is also the Case Manager and Speech-Language Pathologist for the preschool students under PIRT. Amanda has been a speech therapist since graduating with her Masters Degree from Adelphi University in 2017.

Job Responsibilities
- Address articulation skills, phonemic awareness, phonological processes, overall language development, and social/emotional skills
- Identify areas of need within the preschool population's developing skill set
- Provide coaching to preschool teachers in regards to developing lessons, supports, and/or modifications to be used within the classroom to address the needs of the early learners within the least restrictive environment
- Create and hold Professional Development workshops for preschool teachers and paraprofessionals
- Implement the Pyramid Model ideology throughout preschool classrooms

Full Class Sessions
Full-class speech therapy sessions are designed to prepare preschool students for kindergarten expectations and implement age-appropriate topics such as:
- Prepositional Phrases
- Object Function
- Following 1-2 Step Directions
- Associations
- Categorizing
- Sequencing
- Responding to Wh- Questions
- Turn-Taking
- Alphabet & Counting
Modeling of activities are done in 15 minute sessions, and teachers are provided with examples to implement on their own.
