Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Amber Rodriguez and I will be your fifth grade ELA teacher this school year!
I grew up in the Manahawkin/Barnegat area and graduated from Southern Regional High School. I went to college at the University of South Florida to pursue my educational career. I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. This will be my fourth year teaching in Barnegat and I could not be more thrilled! I have taught first grade, fourth grade, and K-5 in the Basic Skills program.
I follow a hands-on teaching philosophy which fosters independence and success. The structure of daily activities is planned to encourage self-confidence, and group cooperation through large group, small group and one-on-one participation in a variety of interactive activities. The activities will incorporate instruction and skill reinforcement in reading readiness, social/emotional skills and language development.
During our ELA block, we will be following a routine of a daily warm-up, whole group lesson, and daily five centers consisting of small group and 1 on 1 settings.
I love to have conversations with parents throughout the year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I want to partner with you in order to best support your child! I check my email frequently throughout the day and will respond ASAP. Also, check my website for frequent updates!
Best way to contact: Dojo or Email!!
