The Preschool Intervention and Referral Team (PIRT) is a school-based, collaborative problem-solving team to assist teachers in generating intervention strategies to meet the needs of pupils in the general education classroom who evidence learning, behavioral or health difficulties.
PIRT members shall be established for every 750 preschool students and supervised by the early childhood school district administrator and shall work within a consultation model. (Code 6A:13A-4.4)
PIRT members may include: Early Childhood Administrators; Master Teachers; Speech-Language Pathologists; Behavior Specialist; Community Parent Involvement Specialist (CPIS); Social Workers; Family Partners; Learning Disability Teacher Consultant; School Psychologists; General Education Teacher; Special Education Teachers; Parent/Guardians; any anyone else who is relevant to the child’s education of life.

Speech-Language Pathologist (General Education)
The Preschool Speech-Language Pathologist conducts speech and language screenings, then provides appropriate services to students who demonstrate communication delays. The primary role of the Preschool Speech-Language Pathologist is to provide direct, push-in, or consultative therapy services to at-risk preschoolers who may be referred through the Preschool Intervention Referral Team (PIRT).

Hi, my name is Jill Yudman and I am one of the Instructional Coaches here at LMDS.
My role as a Preschool Instructional Coach is to visit classrooms regularly to model, coach, and provide feedback to our staff.
I collaborate with our PIRT team to help support our students with social-emotional development.
This role allows me to be able to work closely with our entire student body and staff.

Welcome, My name is Sherri McTague, and I am the Prek Instructional Coach for Lillian M. Dunfee School.
As the Pre-K Instructional Coach, I have the opportunity to coach and provide professional development to preschool staff and help them develop their instructional skills using reflective practice to improve instruction.
I have made it a priority throughout my educational career to give back to my school community by trying to be a positive role model and leading by example whenever possible.

Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapist supports a student’s ability to participate in desired daily school activities or “occupations.” They help children to fulfill their role as students by supporting their academic achievement and promoting positive behaviors necessary for learning. School occupational therapists support academic and non-academic outcomes including fine motor (e.g. writing), gross motor (recess / participation in sports), and self-help skills.
