Chief Joe Falcone, a proud native of Brooklyn, New York, began his distinguished service in the United States Navy on August 19, 2001. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, he trained as a Hospital Corpsman (combat medic), launching what would become a highly accomplished 24-year career marked by operational excellence, leadership, and service around the globe.

His early assignments included Naval Hospital Pensacola, Florida, where he worked in the Medicine and Surgery Ward, Intensive Care Unit, and Family Practice Clinic. During this tour, he deployed with Fleet Hospital 3 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Chief Falcone later served aboard USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in both San Diego, California, and New Orleans, Louisiana, supporting the health and readiness of over 350 Sailors and Marines.

As a Technical Training Instructor at Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, he taught classroom instruction, supervised clinical rotations, and pioneered cooperative learning. He was among the final group of instructors before the school’s disestablishment in August 2011, after nearly a century in existence.

At Assault Craft Unit 5 / Naval Beach Unit 7 in Sasebo, Japan, he served as the Senior Medical Department Representative, playing a vital role in the successful merger of three naval units while supporting the medical needs of over 150 Sailors.

While assigned to Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines in Grand Prairie, Texas, he served as the Inspector-Instructor for the Medical Department, managing the health and readiness of over 1,300 Marines across four subordinate units.

His leadership continued at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command, Great Lakes, where he served as the Leading Chief Petty Officer for the Directorate of Clinical Services and later as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for USS Tranquility, the Navy’s busiest clinic, serving approximately 31,000 recruits annually. In 2019, he was hand-selected as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Public Health Department, leading his team through the demanding challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chief Falcone went on to serve as the Senior Enlisted Leader at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit Meridian in Meridian, Mississippi, and later, the same role at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit Earle in Colts Neck, New Jersey. In both roles, he oversaw teams of 40 staff members delivering care to over 6,500 beneficiaries.

Chief Falcone’s personal decorations include the Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, five Navy Commendation Medals, four Navy Achievement Medals, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education Studies from the University of Arizona Global Campus and joined the Barnegat High School NJROTC program as an intern in March 2025. Now serving as the program’s Naval Science Instructor, Chief Falcone brings a wealth of experience, mentorship, and dedication to the next generation of leaders.

He is a devoted father to Madisyn (17) and Micki (15), both students at Barnegat High School. An avid sports enthusiast, Chief Falcone roots for the New York Yankees, Jets, Rangers, and whichever basketball team is on top that year. He enjoys family time, annual Disney vacations, and—when possible—relaxing on the beach all. day. long.
