Welcome to Cecil S. Collins Elementary School to all students in kindergarten, first and second grades and their families.   I have had the privilege of serving as your interim principal and assistant principal at Cecil S. Collins Elementary School for the past several years, and in our Barnegat Township School District for fifteen years.  I am truly honored to serve the community of Barnegat as the principal of Cecil S. Collins Elementary School.

I am so excited for this new school year, meeting new students and their families, as their children enter kindergarten, and welcoming back our first and second graders.  I am also so proud to work with former Barnegat students, who are now parents themselves, generation after generation, towards their children's success.  Our school community thrives because of the dedication and collaboration of everyone, including all of you, our Barnegat families. I am committed to our continued focus on academic excellence at Collins, student success, and community engagement.

Ms. Johns has been an educator for the past twenty-five years and part of the Barnegat Township School District administrative team, committed to the district’s mission, students, families and the community, for the past fifteen years.  She currently serves as the principal at the Cecil S. Collins Elementary School, for grades K-2.  Prior to her current assignment, she was the interim principal and assistant principal of Cecil S. Collins Elementary School, assistant principal at Joseph T. Donahue Elementary School, assistant principal at Barnegat High School, and a classroom teacher and school administrator with Monmouth-Ocean Educational Services Commission in schools in both Ocean and Monmouth counties, including on the Lakehurst Naval Base.  Ms. Johns earned her MA in Educational Leadership from New Jersey City University and her BA in Liberal Arts and Education from the College of New Jersey.
