Ms. Stolte is LMDS Teacher of the Year

What an honor it is to be recognized by your colleagues for the hard work and dedication we as teachers put into our practice each and every day. Growing up, my twin sister and I were the oldest of five siblings. At an early age, I began to help care for young children. In second grade, my teacher nicknamed me "Mama Kate" because of my kind and nurturing demeanor. I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2010, working for a private nursery school teaching infants - prekindergarten. These years taught me so much about child development and building relationships with children (and adults!). I would not be the teacher I am today without the experienced fellow teachers and mentors that I have had. This is my fourth year teaching preschool for the Barnegat Township School District. I am so honored to have been chosen as the Lillian M. Dunfee Preschool's first Teacher of the Year! I love working with this age group, teaching and caring for my students as if they were my own children! For me, teaching truly is a work of HEART <3
