Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kate Stolte
Welcome to PreK!
My name is Kate Stolte and I am excited to be teaching PreK at the Lillian M. Dunfee School. This is my third year teaching for the Barnegat Township School District. Formerly I taught preschool and prek at a private nursery school for 4 years, became the Head Teacher for 3 years, and took over as Director of the nursery school a few months prior to being hired by our district to teach here at Donahue for two years and now at Dunfee this year.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rutgers and then completed my P-3 teacher's certification through Montclair State University.
My husband and I live in Barnegat with our three boys. My stepson Kidron graduated from Barnegat High School in 2015, took some time off from school to travel, and is currently studying Finance at OCC. My son Riley completed K-5 at Donahue and is entering 7th grade at the Russell O. Brackman Middle School this year. My son Sean is entering First Grade at Collins. We spend our weekends on the sidelines traveling for soccer and watching flag football and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Growing up my sister and I (We're twins!) were the oldest of five children so at an early age I began to help care for young children. In second grade my teacher nicknamed me "Mama Kate" because of my kind and nurturing demeanor. I love working with this age group, teaching and caring for your children as if they were my own, and look forward to another wonderful school year!
