Mrs. Shannon Smith, Principal

Ardently believing that every individual housed under ROBMS’s roof and traveling its halls is important and a valued member of the Bulldog family, I am driven to create an environment of self-esteem, academic success, positive interaction and emotional strength. Although these characteristics sound lofty and far-reaching, this is my growth plan. Our diverse backgrounds will only enhance the outcomes. This is an ebb and flow process so patience and perseverance are key. We will attain our goals.

From joining the Brackman administrative team in January 2017, I have been submerged in the vibrance of Middle School. Recognizing that Middle School is a unique time period in students’ lives, we need to provide stability. When I moved to the principal position in August 2018, I realized that I had to have a vision; I had to develop strategies to achieve that vision and I had to include staff, students and parents in that vision. One innovative project that I implemented and will continue is the #1st3day. Focusing on developing relationships, this initiative encourages communication between staff and students.

Since earning my Bachelors of Science Degree from High Point University in North Carolina and my Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix, I have been and continue to utilize the skill sets developed during my personal educational journey. Yet, the richest of experiences thus far has been my administrative positions. Positively affecting the school population to activate energy and promote growth remains my earnest objective.

With sincere investment of staff, administration, students, parents, and community, ROBMS will be the living representation of “Everybody is Somebody.”
