Frequently Asked Questions
Question: When will we have written homework and what will it be?
Answer: Our first "Current Event" homework assignment will be due Monday, September 23rd. Students will choose one of three NewsELA articles to read, annotate, and summarize. The articles and summary templates will be provided every Monday and students will have until the following Monday to hand it in (unless otherwise noted). Students may choose a different news article as long as it is relevant and from a reputable source, but they are responsible for printing it out on their own.
Question: Do we need a binder or any other supplies?
Answer: Please bring a composition book or spiral notebook and a highlighter by October 1, 2019. I do not require you to have a binder, but if you already purchased one you are free to use it. Folders have been provided to keep student work organized.
